Committed to ending Violence against children through INSPIRE strategies


Political, security, civil servants, NGOs/CBOs, cultural and religious leaders within Bunyagabu District have been sensitized on INSPIRE strategies package of preventing and responding to Violence against children (VAC). The key objective was to create awareness on the INSPIRE package as well documented and evidenced based strategies for prevention of violence against children.

The leaders’ sensitization meeting was address by the team from RIDE AFRICA and RICNET. The facilitators shared knowledge on the causes and forms of violence against children(VAC), the government policies and legal frame that give guidance on VAC, details of the seven INSPIRE strategies and the relevance of the inspire packages in the daily activities of the local government civil servants.



The leaders emphasized that Inspire package should be an obligation of every participant whenever they are invited for any meeting or function and that measures should be put in place to ensure there is a proper response and support service for VAC survivors.


INSPIRE, is a set of evidence-based strategies for preventing and responding to violence against children. The INSPIRE package responds to  the growing recognition that violence against children is a global public health and human rights issue that requires urgent attention from Government, Donors, NGOs,  and local communities. 

RIDE-AFRICA and RICNET are among the NGOs promoting the INSPIRE strategies in Uganda, specifically Buyangabu District in partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MoGLSD). 

The participants resolved to implement INSPIRE strategies in the District and formed a Google email and WhatsApp group to easy coordination and communication.
